Economical Breakfast
I must share our economical breakfast. We used 10 eggs from my mother's house. She has chickens and gives us free eggs. We then used a package of sausage links from Aldi, priced at $1.99 plus approximately $0.17 in tax. To add some flavor to the eggs, my husband used a half cup of Pictsweet seasoning mix frozen vegetables and a palmful of diced fresh parsley. We'll estimate the cost of the half cup of frozen onion/pepper mix to be approximately $0.25 and the parsley to be around $0.10. Throw in a half cup of grated mexican cheese mix for $0.40. 5 slices of bread with toast we'll consider to be around $0.30. Our entire family of 5 was fed for approximately $3.50. We didn't have to drive anywhere, tip anybody, or wait. The meal was great and everybody had plenty.
