Today was a great Walgreens trip! When I shop I usually have my two year old with me, so good preparation is key to a great shopping trip. I had received a $5 off $20 coupon from Walgreens by email which was good yesterday (11/14) and today (11/15). I really wanted to figure out a way to maximize my savings with it and still purchase things I would actually use. All week I had been planning to purchase the Kellogg's Cereal deal of 4 boxes not only for the $2 Register Reward, but for a $10 Kellogg's rebate by purchasing four qualifying products.
I ended up purchasing two Jack's Frozen Pizza (Kraft product), L'Oreal Age Perfect moisturizer, and my four boxes of Kellogg's cereal. I had a $2 manufacturer coupon for the L'Oreal, and three $1 manufacturer coupons for the Kellogg's cereal, plus my $5 off $20 coupon. My total after manufacturer and Walgreens coupons had to be $20 or greater to use the $5 coupon, and I actually didn't need to purchase the pizza to reach my $20, but it was almost dinner time and we needed a quick bite to eat so it worked out well. My total out of pocket ended up being $22.20 for the pizza, L'Oreal moisturizer, and the cereal.
At first glance, what I actually purchased and what I ended up paying for the seven items doesn't seem like a great deal. For me it actually ends up being a great deal because I will receive $16.48 for the L'Oreal moisturizer based on the sale price for the Walgreens rebate ($21.98 if I'm reimbursed at the regular price) and $10 for the Kellogg' mail-in-rebate. I paid for the purchase with my Walgreens giftcard so there was no actual cash out-of-pocket and I received a $2 Register Reward to use on a future purchase. In total, I spent $22.20 and will receive a total of $28.48 back ($2 Register Reward, $16.48 Walgreens rebate, $10 Kellogg's Rebate). In all it was a great trip and I can't wait to plan my next Super Trip.
