Chasing receipts

Every month Walgreen's has their free EasySaver Catalog available in each of their stores or online at http://www.walgreens.com/store/rebateclub.jsp. There are a multitude of offers available in the catalog, including Walgreens coupons that can be combined with manufacturer coupons to increase your savings. I enjoy making the purchases that qualify for the monthly rebate, and normally keep good track of my receipts that I can submit online to receive my rebate. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt and had no idea where it could be. I searched the house from bottom to top. You know the scene, papers flying everywhere, papers moved from one stack to the next, an extensive search of the car including under the seats and in the glove compartment. Well after my one hour receipt hunt I gave up and decided all was lost for my rebate this month until I remembered reading somewhere on the internet that Walgreens can print a journal receipt for you if you can identify the date, and the approximate time you were in the store. I thought what the heck I'll give it a shot and see if my Walgreens store could help me. I then did some major research before I called so I could figure out what day I was there, what I had purchased, the approximate amount, and possibly around what time I would have been there. After I thought I was thoroughly prepared, I made the call to the Walgreens where I was certain I had made the purchase, and on the other end of the line was the nicest supervisor. I explained to her that I had lost my beloved receipt for the monthly rebate and asked her if there was any way to reproduce this receipt to submit for the rebates. She asked the key information needed to locate the receipt, and I told her all that I could remember since it was close to two weeks ago that I had made the purchase. She said she would do some research and see what she could find. I received a return call about 30 minutes later with no luck on finding the receipt, I gave her some additional information in hopes that she could find it and another 30 minutes later she called to say that she had found it. I was elated she was able and willing to help. Needless to say, I will keep better track of my receipts that I need to send in for rebates.
